TEAM SAFETYWORKS COMPLETES THE SCUMRUN 2013
TEAM SAFETYWORKS have returned jubilant after participating in the Scumrun 2013, which is the famous 4 day charity rally across Europe, as seen on Sky TV.
The Scumrun is the biggest and original banger rally, with over 100 vehicles departing from the UK to mystery destinations around Europe. The event has raised over £380,000 since 2006.
To enter a team for the Scumrun, an ‘old banger’ needs to be purchased for no more than £500, which can then be modified in readiness for the rally. The route takes the teams across Europe, but each destination is not known until the start of each new day, with several thousand miles being covered over the four days.
For 2013, the Scumrun charity is WellChild, which helps sick children and their families throughout the UK as they deal with the consequences of serious illness and complex conditions. Their mission is to reach as many children and young people as they can, year after year. WellChild focus on three key areas - care, support and research - and their involvement in so many aspects of children's health puts them in a unique position.
Commenting after the event, Marco Norman, Managing Director of SAFETYWORKS & Solutions said, “So far we have raised in excess of £1900.00, which is absolutely marvellous, and we have had several pledges from more people. I am hoping that once all the cheques have rolled in we will hit in excess of £2500, which will put us at the top of the fund raisers”.
